Recreation Room - Deck 9 - Battlestar Cerberus
Post Holocaust Day: #44
This huge room spans quite a lot of floor space, the support beams crisscrossing at even points throughout the room. The two sides are divided fairly between the Enlisted and Officers with an unseen line more or less running down the center of the room. A couple pool and card tables sit in no-man's land with a series of regular mess tables at the rear of the room, nearest a counter full of minor refreshments like coffee and bags of chips. Magazines and reading material are spread out over the couched seating areas and a few televisions are set-up with a couple of video game systems made available.
Condition Level: 2 - Danger Close

It's havoc. After the Cylons ran wild like Hulkamania over the ship, and Medbay got toasted, an improvised medbay has been set up here. Sofia is still acting as a glorified candy striper, fetching meal and supplies as she can. She's still medicated- although how long that will last given the situation is anyone's guess. "This is sad." It is even worse when one considers her nearly toneless voice.

Bannik is in his deck coveralls, but they're partially unzipped, indicating that the deckie is semi-off-duty. He wipes his brow with the sleeve of his uniform, making his way through the door of the Recreation Room/Medbay. He seems well — stunned — is a good word for it. But he does see one face he knows. "Hey. Hey. Sofia."

Blink. And there's a voice she knows. Sofia turns, almost automatically towards it. At least she seems to remember the Bannik! She smiles, although it's a bit flat still. "Hello Tyr," She bobs her head. She seems eerily at peace in contrast to what's going on around her. "It's a very strange situation," At least she's cognizant of that fact. "Are you hurt?" A frown and she peers over.

"No. No. I'm not hurt. I was getting some rack time when it happened and then the call came to stay in place and —" Bannik trails off. Yeah. He was just hanging in the Enlisted Berthings, terrified, while everyone else in the ship got shot. "I'm taking shifts up in CIC trying to patch things up. Well. Shifts isn't a good word. I'm working constantly up there. I just got a little bit off to grab some chow, but I wanted to stop by and see — you know." The wounded. "Since the Deck got hit."

That's a relief. Sofia smiles weakly. "I'm glad you're safe then. I was in the head, it was kind of awkward," She admits quietly. "Don't… feel too bad," She offers. "I am hoping I can get my clearance back so I can help," Nod. "For now I'm practically a candy striper here," She looks over her shoulder. It's painful, to be medicated and out of work. The active spirited Sofia is unhappy. She looks back toTyr. "I think they are glad. It's very kind of you. And I heard that it had," Frown.

"I don't even know who's down here," confesses Bannik, shaking his head. "I mean, from the Deck. I just got put to work up in CIC. I guess they figure Avionics repair is sort of like wiring and computer repair up there." He sighs, but then offers. "Hey. You can tell the docs that if they'll let you out to help, you can be part of my team. Like, you can work with me as my assistant and help get stuff. I'll look after you, make sure you get your meds. Okay?"

"I don't think most of us do. There's so many," Sofia admits herself. "My mind is a bit foggy sometimes, but it seems to be getting easier to deal with," Or unclouding. Hard telling. "I can show you a bit what I know. I can work an ECM a bit," She smiles faintly. "So I am a little familiar," She rubs the back of her head. 3M is lucky in a way. Flexible. A few blinks and a smile. "I'd like that." Nod. "We'll see if we can find one. Or - if I'll even have meds for long. It's a bit - not really a priority," She explains. But with peeps with their guts hanging out and Cylo-pwnt and all that, she seems to understand. "Still, I hate to just sit here you know?"

Bannik isn't injured. Neither is Sofia — at least not in body. She's been working as a candy-striper of sorts, bringing things around to those doctors and nurses still able to work. Bannik is in his deck coveralls, partially unzipped, apparently a visitor. The two are talking nowhere in particular in the room. "Yeah. I can understand that. But we'll see if we can find you a Doc, okay? And I'd like it if you could show me some stuff around the ECM. Better than trying to learn from the manual."

Speaking of feeling useless at the moment, there's a soft groan nearby the two talking as Elis wakes up, looking around quietly. She's in a bit of a morpha haze, but not as much as she'd like, given the look on her face. However, she's been in this business long enough to know that so long as she isn't going to die, they're going to wean her off the drug over the next few days.

"That's part of what we do in 3M is write manuals and show people things," Sagenod. Sofia remembers… that much. Sofia smiles a little. "Thank you." She seems grateful at least, for the help and friendship. "Though I didn't write the ECM one, I mostly edit." A shrug at that. She pauses, hearing Krysesi wake up. She pauses and looks over. "Oh. Hey, you're awake. You need some water?" That's about the extent of what Sofia can offer. An apologetic glance to Bannik. "If I find any Deck crew awake- I think they brought Damon in here actually." She tries to remember.

Krysesi looks up at Sofia and smiles, seeing a familiar face through the drug-and-sleep haze. It must be the drugs, because the person on the bed isn't acting like Elis Krysesi. "Yeah, that'd be nice," she offers weakly. "Good thing they didn't puncture anything down there… At least, I don't think so."

Sofia's vaguely familiar with that phenomenon. She looks to Tyr, to keep her buddy company. A slow nod at Krysesi, "Sure. We'll get you some water. I think someone might be by soon. And I don't know. I tend to fix wires, not so much people," Nor does Sofia care to catalogue people's injuries. She looks to Bannik again. "That's right now. I think Damon came down here," Nod. It's sparked her memory. "But he wasn't awake." With that, Sofia will start to go fetch Krys some water.

With Sofia shuffling off to get water for Krysesi, Bannik steps up to continue the small-talk. "Looks like you got it all right down there. Just getting here means getting out of the woods, yeah?" He tries to be as optimistic as he can under the circumstances. "Our docs'll make sure you're taken care of."

Krysesi frowns a little and lays her head back. "Feel useless," she mutters. "I should be up taking care of people, not laying here with a hole in me." Then again, it's entirely possible that the corpsman saved lives down in the medical bay by trying to distract the centurion.

Sofia has indeed shuffled off a bit. With the central stairway closed and things shuffled, it'll take a bit.

Bannik does his best to still be cheery. "Hey. Everyone's doing what they can. You wouldn't be any good to anyone if you were up and about right now. I'm sure what they need you to do is stay put, heal up, and then take care of the others when you can." He offers a tight smile. "What's your name?”

Krysesi doesn't respond, eyes drifting shut. That seems to be all the energy she could work up, at least for a little while. Getting shot in the gut really messes you up.

Bannik sighs as Krysesi drifts off to sleep once more. "Well, then," he says. "I suppose I ought to get back up to CIC anyhow." And then he turns and makes his way back off to work.
