Hangar Deck - Port
The single largest rooms on the Cerberus are the hangar decks. Each flight pod consists of two stacked landing bays with adjoined decks and hangars, which along with computer-assisted landings results in a faster Viper recovery rate. Mirror images of each other, these two huge areas are located on the flight pods. The inboard sides of the deck, closest to the ship's main hull, are lined with parking and maintenance bays for Vipers and Raptors based aboard the battlestar. The outboard side of the deck contains the launch tubes used by the Vipers for standard deployment. Huge blast doors seal the deck into four sections, each one containing an elevator that leads up to the flight deck directly overhead. The fore-most section contains an elevator system that leads towards Aerospace Fabrication.
Post-Holocaust Day: #359

Harrier-303 lands smoothly and as the hatch lifts, the minor repairs needed are still looked over by the deckhands with dismay. The ECO steps out first, helmet still covering her features befores she grabs for the checklist off the side wall. Post-flight - yay! Shakes withdraws her helmet and tucks it beneath her arm, letting loose her dark curls. She gives them a shake and sighs, moving to begin the rundown.

In the Pilot's seat of Harrier-303, Priest runs through his post-flight shutdown procedures, popping off his helmet as he does so. He checks through the systems determining which are still functional, and which have been damaged during the battle. Most systems escaped unscathed, but unfortunately their right wing sustained some damage — needing repairs before it can go up again. With his post flight check complete, Magus shuts down the avionics and electronics, and soon slips from the cockpit onto the port wing. "All systems shut down," Priest says to a Deckhand, as he steps down to fill out the paperwork that has to be completed after each flight. "We've sustained damage to our right wing, but the avionics, electronics, and controls in the wing remain intact… Most likely just structural damage." The Deckhand nods, and moves to make his own assessment here.

As Priest joins her, Solstice is going over her own station. Tucking her gloves underneath her arm she hops down and lands with a soft thud. Her knees take the brunt and she also hands over her information to the deckhand who is taking 303 into custody. Shakes lifts a brow before she clips the pen to the end of the clipboard before she releases it. Waiting for her pilot to give the information needed, she looks up to him, "As always, good flying. Never a dull moment though." She lets out a long breath and considers him.

"The pleasure is all mine, Shakes — as usual." The Raptor Pilot says smoothly, as it is just another day in the war. His pale blue eyes look to hers briefly, and then he nods his head ever so slightly. "Still, it'll probably be a few days before we take old 303 back up." He says kicking the wing ever so slightly, and then reaches out to pat his ECO lightly on the shoulder. "Good job out there though. No one died, we must've been doing something right." Here he moves to walk around towards the front of the Raptor, unzipping his flight-suit as he does.

"Still got hit. They keep dogging us like that and eventually we will have no one to fly." she murmurs. Shakes looks back at 303 and considers the Raptor. With a passing glance of her eyes, she is following in his footfalls and catching up. Her smaller legs having to work twice as fast to keep up. She keeps her helmet tucked beneath her arm. "I was going to head to the Chapel, perhaps you will join me?" She asks of him offhandedly as they move for the stairs.

"We got hit, but we were not destroyed. They dog us, yet we are still not beaten." The Raptor Pilot says smoothly to his ECO, drawing from his flight suit a medalion. "Live in this moment, and worry not about tomorrow." He says lightly, kneeling before the nose of the Raptor. "I'm going to say my prayers here tonight, where they are most needed, and then head to my bunk… A double CAP has me worn out." Magus looks over to Shakes here and adds, "Perhaps you'd like to join me instead?"

She was never one for a show of anything and being the rather cold and modest persons he is, Shakes gives a look about the hangar at his offer. She rubs her bare wrist and then steps to his side where he kneels. Solstice slowly goes to her knees, her helmet pressed to the deck before her as she withdraws the medallion of Demeter. Goddess of secrets. She rubs her fingers over it, the old very worn wood carving so smooth it looks polished. "I have decided..I will." she says and looks up at him. Slowly her bare fingers press the medallion tightly in her palm and her head bows. She closes her eyes slowly and whispers her own soft prayers before the Raptor.

Priest's own medallion is one of Posiedon, his Patron God. He holds it lightly in his clenched hand, and bows his head. Priest closes his eyes, and then offers up a quiet prayer.

"Poseidon, dark-haired god of all waters,
by whose will alone do sailors fare in safety.
Lord of the black sea depths, swirling dark and deep,
swift in thought, sure in deed, fervent in feeling,
the ocean's caprice is yours, O Poseidon;
overwhelming one, I praise and honor you.
Mighty Poseidon, unfathomable one,
I pray to you. You at whose touch sweet water springs forth,
at whose whim the earth breaks open beneath our feet,
whose pure power we feel in our bones and our blood,
show me life's essence, life's rage, and pull me like the tide.
continue to grant me safe harbor at last, and shield me from the coming storms."

"So say we all…"

Shakes looks at the steel of the floor, listening to his words and drifting amongst them. Her prayers are done in silence and she lets the priest speak in his loud voice. Demeter heard the whispers of the faithful more than the spoken. Solstice keeps her hands overlapping each other and settled to her helmet before her knees. She lifts her head at his last words, "So say we all.." Her voice is very soft and minimalistic. She remains there a moment before shifting and tilting her head to look over the Raptor.
