Background
Solstice was the third of five children born to Hephaestus and Penelope Vasco. She grew up in the Northern Continent of Sagittaron in the city of Lamina. Despite being in the most 'forward' portion of the colony, the old beliefs still lingered heavily in her home. Just like every one of her other siblings she wore one of the soma braids, made for her by her mother. Her father a Fleet Academy graduate and retired by her tenth birthday with the rank of Commander. Each of her siblings went on to dedicate themselves to the service and so would she eventually as well. She attended the Colonial Fleet Academy on Caprica for a degree in electrical engineering. This took her further into service where she went to flight training and went through IFT and API, the latter in six months. With her scores higher in technical, she chose the ECO pipline and started her training that would eventually lead her to her first assignment aboard the BS Pegasus in 2037 AE as an Ensign. While aboard she was granted the rank of LTJG with the callsign Shakes for several reasons.
After being aboard the Pegasus for three years she was restationed to the Tau Garrison on Tauron in 2040 AE. It was here she would be when Warday came. When the Cylon's attacked, several of the officers were able to get their people out. Amongst them were Solstice and partner, loading up their raptor and taking who they could away from populated areas. It was only when the Cerberus' people arrived upon the surface that they were able to find a measure of hope. Taking up with the Battlestar, her third stationing is now with the BS Cerberus in one of the most uncertain times in the history of the colonies.
