In the year 2007 outside a small Aquarian hamlet, Sasha Yves was born to Fleming Yves and Simone "Solitaire" Latrelle-Yves. He was the youngest of three in all, having two sisters his senior by over seven years. The boy spent much of his early life abroad because of his father's work as an experimental armaments company representative based out of Picon, his mother a native of the colony and honorably discharged viper pilot turned housewife. Though away from his birthplace, his home went with wherever his family was and they fostered learning and honor above all else; he was to make something of himself like his relatives of old and recent. His eldest sister became a lawyer and the middle sibling an ECO. Life was grand for the kid.
However, when his parents were killed in a mountain climbing accident on vacation on Caprica an eleven-year-old Sasha was orphaned upon returning to his hometown.
After the untimely death of his parents, Sasha first went to live with his aunt just outside of his hometown on her estate where he completed his early education with steadfast determination. Before he applied for Fleet at the age of seventeen, he was staying with his eldest sister and her husband on Caprica. Though he was challenged in discovering a way to secure a nomination from a Colonial official, once correspondence was established it became apparent that his late parents' honors and the Yves family name was more than enough to forward him into being a promising student. Partway into the program, he thought of removing himself from the Caprican campus due to girl trouble and feeling woefully inadequate to his family's prestige.
Before that could happen, he was reminded of his family's motto and told to analyze it. It was an Old Gemenese phrase: orbis non sufficit. The world is not enough. The reminder came from a recently acquired tutor, an old fleet officer who was oft to go by the single letter of M in name. Sasha came to appreciate the dual interpretation of the quote, both for the realization of human nature and the human condition: that man can strive beyond his present and make things better and that man will forever struggle to achieve more than what the colonies can or ever could offer.
With M's guidance, he graduated in both the field of justice and law as well as psychology. Sasha Yves was then assigned to the Battlestar Forseti for his first active duty station as a junior intelligence officer and though he did not know of such it was through M's machinations. In due time, roughly four years, he was promoted to Lieutenant and transferred officially to the Colonial Fleet Air Base of Caprica City. Unofficially, he began working for the Colonial Office of Naval Intelligence after receiving a job offer. He would ultimately be working under one Lieutenant Colonel Lucian Marius: M.
Within the CONI, Sasha pursued a clandestine service to Caprica as a special agent. Publically, he had a lot of travel hours much like his late father but eventually married a Sagittaran expatriate by the name of Sadie Johara. They had one son, James. These apparent business trips of his took him away from his family on a regular basis but he had a duty to uphold, security against foreign and domestic influences to maintain, and so made sure that they were well taken care of in his absence.
However, after six years of being a secret intelligence agent, he opted for a more permanently situated position amongst the air base itself as an assistant director to his tutor of old. There, he honed military intelligence tactics with the staff placed under his charge. Throughout these years, since 2032 up until late 2040, his focuses had been counter-intelligence and espionage as well as electronic warfare.
There came the creation of the Missile Frigate Praetorian. This just so happened to be mere months before Warday, not that Sasha new. M gave him the opportunity to be stationed aboard the impressively new vessel at the rank of Captain as an intelligence officer. Bittersweet, he took to the forward post and bid his family farewell for a time, for just a tour of duty. Warday came and passed, extending his tour indefinitely.
Nonetheless, he had since served under the command staff as a level-headed, unobtrusive and private gentleman known to get the job done and do it efficiently if not terse in his expectations and striving only for perfection in such trying times. He had only recently been transferred to the Battlestar Cerberus following Commander Laughlin's murder and the failed but bloody coup of Battlestar Group 132 by Commander Kepner of the Areion.
Nowadays, well, business is a boomin' and there's always a need for intelligence.
