XO's Quarters

A decent-sized room for a personal quarters, the XO's cabin has few of the plush amenities of the Admiral's but still retains a few more touches than would normally be found elsewhere. There are bookshelves that are stacked neatly beside a line of lockers. The standard-sized bunk is built into the wall with a few cabinets overhead for storage. The desk is a standard issue piece of furniture and so is the chair that comes with it, but there is a plain blue couch against the wall near the door and a respectably-sized blue rug lain out in front of it. This room also has a personal bathroom that holds a cramped shower, toilet, and sink area that is separated by a thin wooden door painted to the same color as the walls.

There berthing doors to the XO's quarters open as one Caprican Actor makes his way into the room. He is lead in by two Marines who keep a firm eye on the man in the pin striped suit waits to be addressed. He understands formailty and he remains utterly polite since this isn't the first time he has met someone of importance. Alexander has met President Adar on several occasions and so he remains silent and he stands relatively motionless as he is now an Ambassador for QUODEL and he takes his role seriously.

Sarkis is currently on the horn, com, telephone thingie to the Deck. When the door opens, the XO, continues a couple more minutes and then hangs up. Glancing up and over to the hatch, he comes around the side of his desk and nods to the marines, then his attention falls on the Actor. Per usual, the XO looks like he is sizing the guy up for a fit out the airlock. Not really, but rumors always run rampant on a ship. "Mr. Aurelia, welcome aboard the Battlestar Cerberus."

If one were to size up Alexander he is confident without being cocky and he would appear to be utterly at ease in front of the ships XO since people in power don't seem to intimidate him. His posture is straight and good and he holds himself with a certain noble poise in this particular moment that could read typical Caprican pride and yet there is something worldly in his stance. "Colonel Sarkis, it is an honor to meet you, sir." He offers a hand to the ships XO, "And thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I am sure you are incredibly busy. At least that is if my research is any indication."

Sarkis takes the hand, giving a firm shake before making a motion to the chair in front of his desk. Stacks of reports sit on his desk from the wargames, each labled with the Wing. "I've been catching up on some reading," he seats himself and leans back in the chair with a slight creak, "Goodwill Ambassador?" His fingers indicate something in front of him in another file. "Mind if I ask how you hooked into that title?"

Alexander's shake is firm though not enough to appear overly aggresive as much as he has a strong handshake. The actor takes a seat and he explains how he got here, "Well, it is a long story. After my last film, The Darkness, I was approached by some members of the the Fleet to appear in a movie they are going to produce. The script isn't done yet but I've been told I will play an officer. As an actor I prefer to live into the same experiences as my character and when I can't experience the same things I do research. So, I wanted to come here so that I could do research on what it meant to be an officer in the Fleet. I've been speaking with different people in every department in order to complete my research." He leans back in the chair, "I tried through several channels to get onto this ship as my Sister is here as I am sure you are aware. Though nothing seemed to work. However, I do have some political ties and one of my contacts recomended me to QUODEL and so here I am." He says slightly sardonically, "They wanted a pretty face to represent them and I wanted to do research. It is a win, win scenerio as they say."

Sarkis does that 'nod' thing, so useful in these kinds of situations. Brass, go figure. "So, did you want to be dumped into an Officer uniform and find out what it is really like?" Sarkis questions with a movement in his chair that takes him forward and he lays the folder aside. "Did they say what kind of Officer that will be in the movie?"

Alexander pauses as there is a mention of being dumped into an officer uniform and he says, "Well, I did attend a brief version of Officer Training before I attended here and ideally I would be allowed to wear a uniform but that seems very unlikely and unrealistic. This is why I am conducting interviews." There is a pause for a moment, "To be honest with you, Colonel, I am thinking they will place me in either as a pilot or in a command position. They will want me in a position where I can look heroic and dynamic." There is another pause as a bit more information is revealed, "I believe the Fleet would like to see a movie that increases interest in joining the Fleet."

"Pilot or Command," Sarkis seems rather amused at this, "I've seen a few action war movies and it amazes me how they rarely get someone that knows what they are doing, to teach those people." He raises up a pen again and makes a pointed motion to Alexander, "Who all have you done an interview with? Any from the Wing?"

"Ensign Malone and Lieutenant Westfield, they were very helpful in informing me of their perspectives though I've also spoken with Captain Diego in Medical. I'm trying to speak with every division that makes a Battlestar a living and breathing thing. I would rather be the sort of person who is able to show in a war film that they know what they are doing. I am a method actor, Colonel, and that means if I don't understand part of the role then I am not fit to take on the role. I am here to learn what it means to be an Officer in the fleet. I once played an army soldier and I went through boot camp and then I spent time learning how to shoot as well as interviewing survivors from the First Cylon War. I am going to play an officer in the Fleet of today and I do not want to dishonor you or any of your crew. Let alone any memeber of the Colonial Fleet. My sister serves this Fleet and I wouldn't want to dishonor her with a bad performance either."

"The only way I can see you doing what your job entails you to do, is become a Nugget," Sarkis responds and pulls some paperwork over and signs the bottom of it on the dotted line, "See the CAG and then supply for your gear. Since Malone knows you are an actor, I'll see to it that he keeps quiet. But as far as I am concerned, you are coming in as an officer in the Air Wing. You'll eat, sleep and learn beside some of the best pilots anywhere." His eyes lift then to see if the man understands what he is saying.

Alexander pauses for a moment and he tilts his head, "Thank your Colonel." The actor looks a bit amazed to be honest with you since he plan was to come in and see what he could do to help the fleet. "I'll make my way to the CAG then." It would appear that the actor understands rank and many acronyms. "Will I be working with Raptors or Vipers, sir?" Alexander asks curously and he clearly understands what is being said, "And I will gather my belongings to move to the appropriate berthing, sir." Alexander is beside himself at the moment as he is processing what is happening.

Sarkis folds the paperwork and hands it across. "Don't thank me yet. Just do a good job and the Battlestar will be appreciative."

Alexander nods his head slowly as he continues to process this new bit of information still, it is one thing as an actor to do research but to acctually get to experience something first hand is almost overwhelming to him. "I was going to ask if you wanted me to do anything to raise morale but I suppose at this moment things should be left alone." There is a moment and Alexander stands, "I suppose I should salute now." Which the actor turned pretend officer does.

Alexander adds, "Also, sir, this should make waves with QUODEL." A beat, "Or perhaps that is what you wanted." This is said as a wry grin comes to his face.

Sarkis stands up and returns the salute, "Morale is fine, Ensign, now get to work," he brings his hand down and reseats himself behind the desk. "A++ marks or you'll be scrubbing decks and learn what that is like." He picks up the com and begins talking. He doesn't answer about the QUODEL.

The new 'Officer' makes his way quickly out of the room, "Aye sir, thank you, sir." And with that Alexander is gone.
