Security Hub — Deck Six — Battlestar Cerberus
More than just an office for the Marines and their XO, this room has remote surveillance views of the Brigs as well as a state of the art communications center built into the far bulkhead. A locked and heavily armored door to the aft leads into another room, the white lettering on it reading 'ARMORY.' There are a few desks scattered around the room for getting necessary paperwork done and the Commandant's picture hangs on the wall next to one of the President.

In the Marine Security Hub, Danny Kincaid, newly-promoted Corporal, is perched on his desk. He has a pad in his hand and a manila case file sitting next to him. "Spade!" He holds up a hand to flag him down. "Over here."

Having been passing through the hub, on his way to some place not Security related Spade was nearly through the portal before his feet slid to a stop and he turned his head in the direction of the call. Spotting Kincaid and his outstretched hand, the fellow MP nods his head in his direction. "Corporal." A slow saunter of steps has him heading towards the desk, "What can I do ya for?"

Kincaid offers his hand when Spade comes near enough for a shake. "Danny Kincaid. Not sure we've worked together, Lance, but command's given us the Cameron Adair case to work on; you'll be my partner. You heard about the attack?" He arches his brow.

Spade extends his hand to shake Kincaids as he nods, "Not officially. Jadon Spade. WE were side by side on the Boarding Action. I heard rumors about the attack, care to fill me in on the details?" Spade asks it as he settles down into a chair near the desk.

"They found Doctor Adair on the floor of the Deck 10 BioLab, where they store the Cylon technology samples. Lab was trashed, samples began to thaw and decompose. Adair was beaten half to death. He's in a coma and no use to us." Kincaid is reading off his pad. "It's uncertain whether the lab or Adair was the target."

"Beaten to half death?" Spade asks as he tilts his head in contemplation, leaning back in the chair to look at the ceiling. "Half death would seem to indicate he wasn't the target, was he found in that condition, had he been that way for some time or did it look like it was recent?" His eyes drift down to Kincaid, "Not a lot to work with to be honest it sounds like. Any footage?"

"We're going to be the investigative team. Uniforms on the scene got statements from those who found him and those in the area, so we'll need to work through those, check to see if there are any sign-in logs, security footage. We'll need to track Adair's movements, see what he was doing there." Kincaid ticks off his initial leads. "I figure this went down one of two ways. Either our hero was out for Adair and smashed up the lab to make it look like the lab was the target or the lab was the target and our guy beat up Adair by chance; maybe Adair just happened to be there when our attacker came to break some things."

"Dangerous ground, one of two ways… that's when the third creeps up." Spade comments with a grim smile on his lips. "Well, where do you want me to start boss? I'm hopin' you have some kind of game plan to deal with all this yes?"

"I've got some initial thoughts." Kincaid nods, glancing down at his bullet list. "I'll have you take the Medical angle. I'll need you to talk to the doctors in Sickbay; see if Cameron has any defensive wounds or if the attacks show how he was attacked. Was he facing his attacker? Was he hit from behind? That sort of thing. I also need you to try to track Cameron's movements on the day of the attack. Where was he? What was his schedule? What was he doing in that lab late?" He flips over his page. "I'll check the tapes, paper logs, witness interviews, that sort of thing."

Spade nods his head and taps the desk, "Gotcha. Do we have a time frame on this investigation?" He checks over towards his arm, where a watch would be if he wore one, "Or is it as soon as possible but without the proverbial axe dangling over our collective skulls?"

"It's languished for a few weeks with the Gemenon op underway. I want to pick up at least the initial leads before they go colder. What? You got another big case, Spade?" Kincaid smirks, then tucks away his pad. "All right. Any questions? Ideas?"

"Until I get my feet wet on it not really. And not so much a big case, just finishing work on my novel, which can always be put aside for a good case." The man grins then moves to stand up, "I'll have something for you hopefully in a couple of days."

"Ah, the Great Colonial novel. Chase that dream, Spade." Kincaid pats Spade on the shoulder, hopping off of his desk. "Looking forward to see what you come up with."
