Corinna is the youngest of five siblings, all boys but her. Her mother had passed away when she was 5. Living in a Taurian family with no other female figure was quite the task for the young woman. Everyone got along, for the most part. There was sibling rivalry and the typical wrestling around that happened when there was only one parent who worked. Cor was able to keep up with the boys and to hold her own. Cot, even though she was the youngest, would help her father with the running of the household. Her father was working all the time, since it was difficult at best to support a household with 5 children on a single salary. Plus, with his job description as ambiguous as it was, the man was out at all hours. She'd grown to be responsible at an early age, and had to skip most of her childhood. When her friends were outside playing after school, Corinna would be at home making dinner. Her head was more into the practical world then the scholarly, and at the legal age, she'd dropped out of school to take care of the household full-time.
To help with the family finances, the children who weren't still in school had started to take on jobs. Corinna was hired to work at the local Tattoo shop. Artistic in nature, Corinna would get inspired by the tattooists and begin drawing designs of her own. Impress with the girl's talent, the owner allowed Corinna to start apprenticing. After a few years, Corinna was good enough to do her own tattooing. One night, after work, Corinna was followed home by a patron who'd had a bit too much of the ambrosia. The man got a bit too handy and tried to attack her. Thanks to the self-defense she'd been taught by her older brothers, she was able to fend the man off easily, only breaking his nose and a couple ribs. Ashamed of the experience and not wanting to cause more grief to the family, she'd tried to keep it quiet. It was working well until her father had come home one day, questioning the girl.
Corinna could not lie to her father, but she had no idea how he had found out. It appears that the man was a mow-key member of the Ha'La'Tha. Corinna and her family would've been in trouble if it weren't for the fact that her father and her two older brothers were also members of the organization. The man was dealt with, quietly, and never heard from again. Corinna, saddened and ashamed, kept to herself. She didn't want anything to do with the world her father was in, and she was afraid of further repercussions or attacks. She'd figured that the best way to stay out of trouble, yet still help the family financially was to join the Fleet. The navy wasn't her style, so she'd joined the marines.
Corinna took to life in the Fleet quite well. Her stoic manner and quick thinking made her a favorite at training, and under encouragement from her superiors, she'd gone to AIT for Rifleman/marksmanship training, and stayed for MP training. after she'd finished, she'd been assigned to Bravo Company of the 1st Battalion 9th Unit, Able Platoon. She was initially stationed on the Battlestar Cosmic, but then was transferred with the rest of the unit to the Cerberus after it was commission. On Warday, Corinna happened to have been on the Picon Anchorage when the attacks occurred. As she was on her way back, quickly, she been caught in a blast. She survived, but she'd had numerous pieces of shrapnel embedded in her leg. It had taken her quite a bit of time to heal and rehab, but she's now back and just about ready to be released back into duty.
