Security Hub — Deck Six — Battlestar Cerberus
More than just an office for the Marines and their XO, this room has remote surveillance views of the Brigs as well as a state of the art communications center built into the far bulkhead. A locked and heavily armored door to the aft leads into another room, the white lettering on it reading 'ARMORY.' There are a few desks scattered around the room for getting necessary paperwork done and the Commandant's picture hangs on the wall next to one of the President.
Condition Level: 3 - All Clear

"Hey, Samuel." Kincaid waves with a hand, gesturing the Sergeant over towards his tiny, tiny desk in the back of the Security Hub. "Over here." He gets up from behind the desk, greeting the other NCO. "Thanks for coming by."

Samuel steps in from the outside, glancing around for a few moments, before he heads over in Kincaid's direction as he hears the man. "No problems. How can I help today?" he asks, after a very brief pause.

Kincaid has a small laptop set up at his desk with a video on it. "I'm trying to pick up an investigation that got lost in some of the events of the last weeks," explains the Corporal. "I was hoping to pick up a new partner on it with Spade tied up with things. You interested?" He gestures to a seat next to him at the cramped desk.

Samuel nods a little bit as he moves to take that seat. "Sure," he offers, glancing to the laptop screen.

"As you might have heard, Cameron Adair was beat to a pulp inside of the Deck Ten biolab where he was working on Cylon biotech. The best lead we have so far is this. It's some the security camera trained on the lab." Kincaid hits the 'play' button, but it's clear what the problem is: the footage is grainy and it's hard to make out details. It shows a figure in medical scrubs entering the lab, a male (or at least man's build), of average height and weight or someone in the military. "No rank pins. No insignia. This basic figure matches, like, fifty-five percent of the Fleet."

Samuel nods a little bit as he hears that, leaning forward a bit to watch that video. "Not much to go on so far…" he offers after a few moments.

"This was twenty minutes before Cameron Adair went into the biolab." Kincaid fast-forwards the tape, which now shows Adair at the door, entering his passcode, and then entering. And then just a few minutes later, the figure departs. "Perhaps the other good lead is that there was only one passcode entered — Adair's — and it was entered at the time he enters on the tape. So it means our attacker either circumvented the lock or entered a valid code and then went back and covered his tracks."

Samuel nods a little bit as he sees that, "Should be someone that knows their way around locks like this, then…" Looking at the screen a bit more carefully.

"I don't see him working tools in the lock or anything like that, so I am assuming it's a computer-based hacking of the lock. I have a computer expert I typically call in for these things — Magnus Dekker. You want to meet with him, see if he'll go over the logs and see if anything is amiss? He's got the clearances needed to do consulting work." Kincaid turns to Samuel.

Samuel nods as he hears that. "Sounds good," he replies. "I'll go see Mr. Dekker as soon as possible."

"Excellent." Kincaid gets to his feet. "I'll get you the incident report written up by the uniforms on the scene so you have all the particulars when you go and meet him. As for me, I'll try to follow-up with the officers that found him on scene, try if they can remember anything else."

Samuel nods a bit as he hears that, "Let's hope their memory works good, then," he offers, getting to his feet as well.

"Thanks for coming aboard, Samuel, hopefully we'll nail this guy, whoever it is. Just hope it's not another Cylon saboteur." Kincaid closes up his laptop. "Let me know if you need anything or have any questions."

"Will do," Samuel replies, with a bit of a nod. "We'll get him, whoever he is."
