With the hatches at the rear of the room, the walkways on both sides slope down towards the dais at the front of the room. The stadium seating forms a partial semi-circle around the speaking podium and provides enough seats for all three hundred members of the Air Wing. The walls are adorned with the patches of each squadron aboard and their mottos stenciled in white lettering above each one. Behind the podium is a set of large LCD screens that can display any matter of material from reconnaissance to maps to gun camera footage.
Post-Holocaust Day: #312

Roland steps into the ready room, looking around for someone. He spots Poppy, and walks further in. He clears his throat, and glances back to the doorway before he speaks, "Captain?"

Khloe, standing in front of the whiteboard, looks like she's just finishing up some new wing assignments to keep the never-ending Condition Two CAPs interesting. Keeps pilot minds sharper when they have different pilots to converse with. As she caps off the marker, she glances in Roland's direction. "Blue. What can I do for you?" She asks, turning to face him.

Roland glances past her toward the board already seatching his name out when she speaks. He blinks and looks back up at her, "Just wanted a quiet word Sir. Somethen keeping me up nights.." He crosses his arms across his chest, "I was on the CAP that chased the raider into that foundry…"

Khloe narrows her eyes slightly - a facial expression Roland probably hasn't come to expect, yet. It's hard to judge Poppy if she's annoyed, or if she's simply focusing her attention on something she doesn't fully understand. "I see. I'd think the double-rotation and constant readiness would tire you out enough so that you'd sleep like the dead," she observes. She, however, is a workaholic, and it's rumored that she gives everyone the, 'work harder' speech, one way or another. "All right, Blue. Shoot. But I warn you, I'm really not the best psychiatrist in the fleet."

Roland shakes his head, "No sir. I don't a head shrinker.. Its Bootstrap." He glances back toward the hatch before continuing, "Sir I haven't flown with the Knights long.. I don't know everyone.. I wouldn't question orders infront of anyone, but… He had me and Bubbles sitting dead in the water… Zero thrust while that cylon just about got away clean." He holds up both hands, "I don't mind Raptor pilots in charge of a CAP.. Hell even ECO's… But if that raider had turned into us.. Run for the fleet.. Gone radioactive.. We'd have been sittin there on our asses watching."

Khloe nods slowly, listening to what the man has to say. "I see. Lieutenant Trask has an unorthodox leadership style, but it's served the Harriers well. It could be that he doesn't have a firm grasp on the strengths of a Viper, being speed and maneuverability." She squares her shoulders up a bit; it's clear that she's running on fumes, herself, but she puts on a good show of being authoritative and strong even if she feels like crap. "I'll see what I can do, Blue, but don't expect him to give you a bouquet of roses in apology. In fact, I would suggest you put this past you. Often we're required to do a lot of things that we think are not tactically or logically sound, but we do it anyway because of rank and the chain of command."

Roland nods once,"Aye aye Cap'n… Thats all I wanted…The Vipers are interc.." He breaks off as Wade comes in. He looks back to Khloe and nods, "I wouldn't ask you to do any more than that.." He stands in front of Poppy arms crosses talking to her. He looks over, and nods to Wade as he comes in, "Drips."

Khloe nods firmly to Roland. And that's that, it seems - whatever the topic was, she doesn't continue with specifics now that Wade has been added to the mix. "Good. Anything else, Lieutenant?" She says to Roland. She glances Drips' way, giving the pilot a tired nod in greeting. "Drips."

Wearing his flight suit, Wade steps inside the Ready Room. He is carrying his helmet on his left hand and takes a moment to look around in silence, only moving his gaze to Blue and Poppy when the man addresses him. "Poppy, Blue" offers the man, nodding at them. He presses his lips and looks from one to the other, nodding after that "I will assume I interrupted something" There is a faint smile there and yet another nod "Getting ready for CAP myself, decided to stop by and see if anyone was here"

Roland shakes his head, "Naw.. Just a report of piss poor shooting by one pilot callsign Blue." He looks over to Wade, "You on the double?"

"Nothing that wasn't already on the verge of being conclued," Poppy states on the heels of Blue's explanation. "And when the sims are up, Lieutenant -" Referring to Roland still. "- I expect you to log some time with me to work on your targeting skills. Because, like me, I've done a piss-poor job with a KEW lately. We'll both do our brushing up."

Wade offers a polite smile and adds "No need to explain Blue" Now, he clears his throat and nods "Double CAP yes and…" he looks at the flight board for a moment "Alert Viper right after that, no wait, an hour in between. Nap time I would say" Now he looks at both again "Sims are certainly good. Tho I will say that we all had our share of piss poor shooting in the past, nothing is free from that one, sadly enough" Heck, he knows he missed a few shots.

Roland blinks a little in surprise, and nods over to Poppy as she mentions the sims, "Aye Aye Cap'n.." He looks back to Wade, and smiles slightly, "Well kill 'em all for me Drips.. I'm on a double right after yours."

"We're all on doubles until we can jump the hell away," Khloe advises. "And some of us are pulling doctor's shifts. You'll sleep when you're dead." And with that, Poppy glances at the whiteboard again, and nods satisfactorily. "My job here is done. You two stay sharp." And with that, she takes up her helmet, which was resting on a nearby chair, and makes a move towards the exit.

Wade salutes the Captain "Have fun Poppy. Clear eyes and steady hands." says the man to her, following her with his gaze as she leaves. He tilts his neck from side to side and then rubs his fingers over his eyes "Double CAP, Double CAP…" Now, he takes a deep breath and clears his throat "So what's your plan for now? Going to get a few minutes of sleep or hit the showers?" This is asked to Blue of course.

Roland nods over to Khloe as she leaves, "Steady hands Sir." He glances back over to Wade, and smiles slightly, "Chow if I can find it.. I'll check my ride, and if I got any time left.. I'll hit the rack."

Wade nods in acceptance and repeats "Chow, ride, hit racks…sounds like a good order to me" Now, he lifts one hand and pats Roland's left arm "And don't worry about the shooting, it'll get better, it's a matter of practice and just being out there shooting things. Damn frakkers fly fast, that's for sure." He looks at the boards again and back to Roland "The way I see it, we'll have plenty of practice, I don't think the toasters will leave us alone"

Roland shakes his head, "They won't stop… They taught us that." He looks over to the other pilot, "There was a raider.. Running flat out.. Couldn't keep up with him. Full burn. He was still leavin us. Cut off his angle early, if you run up on one like that. You won't catch im.. Get 'im early."

Wade listens for a moment while Roland speaks, nodding from time to time. "I've heard about that one, yeah. You know, I would really like to take a look at the engines on those Raiders… take is that they have a larger threshold, they can probably endure more stress." He rubs his fingers over his chin and finally nods again "If I see one, I'll make sure to blow it to pieces…unless ordered otherwise of course, might want the thing for Intel." He shrugs at this and smiles wickedly "Tho, I will race those frakkers any day…"

Roland chuckles, and nods several times, "Don't take any chances Drips." He slaps the pilot on the back, "Good hunting. I heard theres green goo today in the mess hall. I don't want to miss that."

Wade chuckles as well "Let Hermes grant me speed." says the man, nodding after that. Now, he arches both eyebrows and says "Green goo huh? That is actually quite delicious if you mix it with that…that white crap" He snorts and then shakes his head "Alright Blue, take it easy. Time for me to go" He offers the other man a light salute, turns around and makes his way to the exit.
