[ Hangar Deck - Port ]---[ Midship - Battlestar Cerberus ]

The single largest rooms on the Cerberus are the hangar decks. Each flight pod consists of two stacked landing bays with adjoined decks and hangars, which along with computer-assisted landings results in a faster Viper recovery rate. Mirror images of each other, these two huge areas are located on the flight pods. The inboard sides of the deck, closest to the ship's main hull, are lined with parking and maintenance bays for Vipers and Raptors based aboard the battlestar. The outboard side of the deck contains the launch tubes used by the Vipers for standard deployment. Huge blast doors seal the deck into four sections, each one containing an elevator that leads up to the flight deck directly overhead. The fore-most section contains an elevator system that leads towards Aerospace Fabrication.

Ahhh, another long day of being on duty. It sucks that she was one of the first members of the air-wing on board, and what sucks even more is that she's on duty already! Still, she didn't mind the time spent down on Leonis waiting for the new recruits and transfers. It gave her time to pick up a few more bottles of booze as she promised and a lot more chocolate. She was missing some Leonian brands afterall.

After a couple hour trip back up to the Cerberus, there's a soft and gentle landing in the hangar. There's no need for an ECO on these trips, so she's served as pilot for the newcomers.

"Thank you ladies and gentlemen for flying Air Gadget. Remember to keep your seatbelts fastened at all time until we've come to a complete stop." she says, doing her docking check as she softly lands. Phew!

Jayden is one of those new faces coming into the Cerberus. The fresh LT pins still shine as if they've just left the box. "Nice driving, pilot," he tells the gal in that raspy tone of his. He waits for the deck crew to lower the raptor onto the bay.

"Thank you, I do try." she says with a wry grin as all it set and the Raptor safely lands on deck. Maia presses the buttons and the hatch starts to open to the deck, the smell of a new Battlestar still there. "We have reached our final destination, have fun checking in with your COs." she tells the group as she unfastens her own harness while waiting for everyone to depart. Meanwhile, she picks up her little grocery bag of chocolate and booze cause that's going straight to her locker.

Jayden unfastens his security belt and smiles. A duffle by his feet is lifted and he angles towards the exit. He looks around a bit before hopping off the ramp and into the deck. The marines here clear his credentials as he turns his head to try and spy Maia on her way out, "Eh… excuse me."

Maia leaves last since she was the pilot and all and she raises her brows as she's stopped by one of the new comers. She has her helmet inside the Raptor still and is already starting to unzip the top of her flight suit before she peers at him. "Yes? Need something?" she asks curiously.

Jayden nods as he checks out the patches and markings on her suit. "Yes," he says with a smile before he extends his hand in greeting, "Jayden Ekonomo." Intros first after all, "Looking for the CAG."

"Maia Westfield." A hand is extended as she introduces herself and gives his a firm, yet still gentle grip. "Pleasure to meet you Lieutenant. Major Hahn is pretty busy, but I'd stop by the Raptor Berthings later when things settle down a bit. That's probably when it'd be easiest to find her. Till then I'd relax." she replies with a cheery smile, sighing as she's finally off duty. You don't start to peel your flight suit off when you're still on duty afterall. "That's what I'm doing. You all are my last busing for the day. Now I am officially off duty!"

"A pleasure," says Jay after hearing her name. After Maia has answered, he nods and slings his duffle over his shoulder. "Good. Mind showing me the berths then, El-tee Westfield," he asks pleseantly. New pilots need to flock with the veteran ones, or so they say.

She's hardly a veteran! Still Maia chuckles softly and nods. "Well, are you a Raptor pilot or a Viper jockey?" she asks curiously, her brows furrowed while peering at him. "Oh and we're off duty, and we're the same rank." she says, pointing at the pins on his collar. "Mai or Maia is fine." She does prefer using actual names over callsigns anyway.

Jayden nods and smirks to Maia. "Echo," he quips, as he digs into his trousers for a new pack of smokes. Letting Mai take lead, he lights one up and adds, "Fly and die and never ask why." Viper jock? Check.

"Okay, there's separate berthings for Viper jockeys than us Raptor pilots and ECOs." she says, starting to head up the dual stairway. and off they go! "So tell me about yourself, Echo. Where'd you transfer from?"

Jayden follows Maia thru the somewhat empty staricase now. "Aquarian. Transfer from the Aghora carrier." He takes a drag and chuckles to something that just came to his mind, "Different rooms for pilots and ECO's? That's new." He's used to the cramped styles of the carriers.

"There are no mixed squadrons here, which I find odd. I was with the Blue Squadron on the Pegasus, it was a mixed raptor and viper squadron. Here, they do things different from what I've seen. All those who serve on Raptors are in one berthing and all those who fly Vipers are in another berthing. Never seen itlike that before, but what are you going to do?" she says with a shrug of her shoulders before heading towards deck 4.

Jayden offers no comment on that subject, and just smokes. Now on deck four, he looks at the ample corridors and smirks. "So, a Pegasus pilot. That's one amazing tub." Yeap, the Pega's rep is well-known thru the fleet.

"Correction, a Pegasus ECO." she says with a coy grin as she starts to motion towards the leftand right. "That way leads towards the Raptor Squadron berthings. That's where I stay. The other leads to the Viper Squadron berthings, that's where you'll be." she says with a sage nod. "Need help moving in?"

Jayden looks left and then to the right. A small peek inside the viper room tells him all the bunks are new and almost empty. "Sure. I could use a wingman spotting the best place to unpack," he tells Maia, stubbing his cigar on the archway.

"Uh huh, or do you just want me alone in the berthing?" she says teasingly, snickering the entire time as she motions towards the viper berthings and leads the way.

Jayden blushes some and shakes his head with a smirk plastered. "Gods, no. I hope I dont have to resort to lame pick-up lines like that to get some tail," he tells the ECO as they step into the berth. He looks around and stretches his arms, "So, where do you think I should shack?"

"Well, I picked the one near the back over there over at my berthing. That way I know who is coming in and out when my curtains are open and I won't be disturbed when my curtains are closed by the random comings and goings of people. But that's just me." she says with another soft chuckle under her breath as she peers towards him. "Ahhh, lame pick up lines, heard a lot of those on the Pegasus."

"Really? Share the wealth," says Jay, dropping his duffle over the nearest bunk avaliable. One of the communal chairs is pulled over wih his foot, as he unbuckles his tunic.

"No, I'm not going to help you get…" and she pauses, scrunching her nose up a little. "Tail, as it were. Do it on your own. Be a gentleman, not some manwhore." Maia says firmly and resolutely.

Jayden chuckles and nods, "Fine. Fine." He places his tunic neatly over the chair and begins to unbutton his trousers, stopping just as he is about to pull them down, "Eh… Well, I am gonna take a cold one, if you don't mind." He winks back to the petite officer.

"A cold shower? Why?" she asks curiously, chuckling as she just shakes her head and facepalms a little. "Well enjoy. I'll let you be."
